Meet Chris LANDANO
Chris was born and raised in Queens, New York and is a Patented Inventor & Retired FDNY Firefighter.
Chris’ public service career began in the late 1990s as an auxiliary officer with the NYPD, where he volunteered his time assisting regular officers with patrols and community safety in New York City.
After gaining firsthand experience in emergency response, he moved into the medical field by completing EMS academy training and working on an ambulance, responding to critical calls across the city.
A few years later, he was promoted to firefighter and served over 20 years with the FDNY, including 9/11.
Along the way, he pursued his interest in photography at Queensborough Community College, which helped him develop the technical skills that led to a role as a forensic photographer for the FDNY, documenting fire scenes and evidence.
During a fire in Corona, Queens, Landano became entangled on debris inside a collapsed building during the rescue looking for people trapped in the collapsed zone, while performing his duties as a photographer of the rescue. A dangerous moment that highlighted the need for better photographer safety tools.
Chris retired in 2021 to launch his own invention, TrakBelt360, and follow his passion for protecting inventors through education.
He is a co-host in the NYC Inventors & Entrepreneurs Club and an advocate for Inventors who attend Trade Shows nationwide.
To this day, Chris plays a key role in advocating for inventors and can be found attending trade shows and industry events nationwide.
